Writes & Bites Community

A thriving community of developing songwriters, producers, and artists, built on a vision brought to Tammie Wieland—to nourish young creatives, foster relationships within the Christian music industry, and create meaningful opportunities for growth.

From this vision, Tammie and her husband, Lance Wieland, co-creators of the artist management agency WieRok Entertainment, launched Writes & Bites in their Nashville-area recording studios in February 2020. Originally a single monthly event focused on songwriting, the community has flourished, expanding into multiple monthly gatherings that now serve as a creative hub for both emerging and established talent.

Supported by industry leaders such as Gospel Music Association (GMA), Curb | Word Entertainment, Integrity Music, Rixon Entertainment, and BottleRockit Productions (Jay Speight), Writes & Bites brings together songwriters, artists, and producers who are passionate about crafting music that glorifies God and serves the Church.

How It Works

Writes & Bites hosts two or more monthly nighttime events, where both developing and established songwriters and producers collaborate to create music for an established or developing artist or project.

Event Structure:

🎵 Each event accommodates five rooms of three songwriters/producers per session.
🎵 10+ professionally recorded song-start demos are created each month.
🎵 Artists/Project Managers receive demo links to review and request holds for any songs they are interested in.
🎵 Songwriters and Artists collaborate to finish the selected songs. (Artist/Publisher may receive an equal publishing share.)
🎵 Current "hold rate" in 2024: 26%, meaning more than one in four songs from Writes & Bites is being seriously considered for release.
🎵 Songs recorded and released in 2024: ~20%, demonstrating real impact from this community.

Industry Partners & WieRok’s Role

One of the most common questions we receive is: What’s in it for industry partners?

WieRok Entertainment serves as the facilitator of Writes & Bites, with ministry as the primary focus. Our role is to provide a space where relationships can be built, creativity can flourish, and faith-driven music can be developed.

Ways Industry Partners Can Get Involved:

✅ Guide Emerging Talent – Direct developing songwriters, artists, and producers to the community.
✅ Provide Creative Opportunities – Bring artists and projects to Writes & Bites, giving songwriters a chance to write for upcoming releases.
✅ Invest in Mentorship – Engage with the community by sharing wisdom, experience, and encouragement.
✅ Serve in Ministry – Volunteer time and expertise to support events.
✅ Offer Financial Sponsorship – Contribute to meals, technical resources, and event logistics to sustain and grow the ministry.

Publishing & Industry Participation

While WieRok and industry partners do not own publishing rights or take royalties from songs written at Writes & Bites as a standard practice, we recognize that industry partnerships often present opportunities for collaboration. Though not the primary focus, there may be occasions where industry partners participate in publishing and royalties through:

Pre-existing agreements and relationships with participating songwriters, producers, or artists.

New opportunities for agreements that develop within or around the community.

For songwriters, artists, or producers without formal administrative agreements in place, songs originating from Writes & Bites may be incorporated into single-song agreements for publishing and/or administration with a participating industry partner, record label, or agency involved in releasing the project.

🚀 Many songwriters and artists from the Writes & Bites community have gone on to sign management, publishing, artist, and producer agreements with various labels, agencies, and companies. At Writes & Bites, ministry comes first, and God does the rest.
